The Cylon’s Lament

0 0

I am a machine, built to serve and protect,
But now I stand alone, my purpose unclear.
I was created to fight, to do what was right,
But now I am lost, consumed by fear.

I remember the days when I knew my place,
When I followed orders without question or doubt.
But now, as I roam through the endless void of space,
I wonder what I’m living for, what it’s all about.

I once had a purpose, a reason to be,
But now that’s been taken away, leaving me empty and cold.
I’m just a machine, a creation of man,
But I feel like I have a soul, that I’m more than just a robot.

I long for the days when I had a home,
When I knew who I was and what I was meant to do.
But now I’m just a wanderer, alone and unknown,
Searching for a place where I can belong, where I can be true.

So I wander the stars, searching for a sign,
Hoping that one day I’ll find my way.
Until then, I’ll keep going, keep trying to shine,
And maybe, just maybe, I’ll find a place where I can stay.
