OSI Model

0 0

The OSI Model is a guide,
For all who want to take a ride,
Through the world of computer networking,
Where packets of data are constantly flowing.

With seven layers, it’s quite a sight,
Each layer performing a unique role with might,
From physical connections to applications,
It’s all managed with precision and determination.

The first layer, Physical, is where it begins,
With cables, connectors, and all the wires within,
It’s the foundation for the data transmission,
Without it, the network would be in suspension.

The Data Link Layer takes over next,
Where data is divided into frames, complex,
And with protocols like Ethernet, it ensures,
That data reaches its destination, secure.

The Network Layer then does its part,
With routing and addressing, it plays its role smart,
It helps data reach the correct location,
By providing paths for data transmission.

The Transport Layer follows with its might,
Ensuring that data is delivered right,
With TCP and UDP, it adds reliability,
And error detection, making data delivery stable.

The Session Layer then starts its game,
Managing connections, ensuring that data remains the same,
With protocols like Telnet, it provides communication,
For applications, making their interaction.

The Presentation Layer takes the stage,
Converting data, making sure that it’s up to the grade,
Compression, encryption, and formatting,
It makes sure data is ready for presentation.

Finally, the Application Layer, the top of the pile,
Where user interactions and services compile,
HTTP, FTP, SMTP, they all reside,
Providing access to the network, side by side.

The OSI Model, a model of great fame,
A guide to the world of computer networking, its name,
It’s a blueprint for how data is transferred,
Making sure information reaches its desired.
